Abstract

In the pre-Great Depression period, social transformations took place and the development of technology increased the mass production activities. Large corporations have started to transfer their profits in the financial sector as well as in real production activities. Modern Times depicted this period and described the consequences of the crisis in terms of society. The aim of this article is to embody Veblen's theory of economics by adhering to the Modern Times, which reflects the economic and social circumstances of the period and to analyze the behavior of individuals that led to economic crises.
