Abstract

Will forests conversion and exploitation lead to Outer Islands economic development in Indonesia ? Core-periphery models allow to better understand why these regions development may remain limited. Moreover, a recursive general equilibrium model with transport costs is applied to an Indonesian province, which lead to discuss the compatibility of forest ecosystems sustainable management and regional development.
