Estimating regional-level input demand for french agriculture using a Translog production function

Abstract

Cet article porte sur l'estimation d'un système de demande dérivée de facteurs de productions pour l'agriculture française. La modélisation s'appuie sur une fonction de production Translog dont la spécification tient compte des spécificités régionales. Les conditions de régularité sont vérifiées dans un sous-ensemble important de l'espace des facteurs, ce qui permet des conclusions de portée générale. Tout d'abord, l'hypothèse de séparabilité des inputs est rejetée. Les élasticités de substitution partielle entre les consommations intermédiaires et les facteurs primaires sont élevées. Enfin il y a une relation de substitution (sauf pour les systèmes de type hors-sol) entre le travail et le capital, la terre et le travail, mais le capital et la terre sont des facteurs complémentaires.
