We present an econometric analysis of the effect of long term nutritional conditions on school achievement. We control potential selectivity bias, which is common in this literature, (i) either by restricting the sample, (ii) or by applying a two step Heckman procedure. For Malagasy data, we show without ambiguity that height is positively and significantly linked to school success. This statement proves that health investments are not only benefic to well being but that they also affect the rate of return of educational investments.
