Abstract

[fre] La révolution industrielle, en améliorant les transports, avait permis une intégration du commerce de marchandises à l'intérieur des pays et entre pays. La révolution des technologies d'information est en train de transformer les industries et les entreprises de façon tout aussi profonde (par exemple, Bresnahan et al. (2002), Mairesse et Greenan (2006)). Il est, par exemple, possible de coordonner, souvent à l'intérieur de la même entreprise, des activités dans des conditions qui auraient paru inimaginables il y a seulement quelques années : activités de comptabilité délocalisées en Inde, support technique fourni par des entreprises africaines ! Certains ont été jusqu'à émettre des doutes sur la survie de la notion d'entreprise ; d'autres ont montré que leur frontières tendaient à s'estomper.
