The gross output agricultural productivity gap

Abstract

In developing countries the agricultural productivity gap, namely the ratio of labor productivity in non-agriculture to that in agriculture, is much larger if measured by gross output than by value-added. This implies more serious sectoral labor misallocation in these countries.
