México: estructura productiva y penetración de las importaciones intermedias, 2003 y 2013

Abstract

Este artículo analiza y compara las relaciones intersectoriales de las estructuras de producción total y doméstica de México de 2003 y 2013, y muestra el efecto de la penetración de las importaciones intermedias en los vínculos de producción de la estructura doméstica, así como la dependencia sectorial a las importaciones intermedias. Con ese fin, a partir de las matrices de insumo-producto, se utilizaron los métodos de matrices del producto multiplicador (MPM) y de extracción hipotética (MEH). Los resultados indican la existencia de dos estructuras de producción distintas, además de la desarticulación de algunos sectores, sobre todo industriales, con las actividades domésticas de producción. Se identifican sectores altamente dependientes de las importaciones intermedias y otros con mayor capacidad de arrastre y de generación de valor doméstico.
