[Documento] Adaptación al cambio climático en el municipio de Margarita, Bolívar

Abstract

Aplicando metodologías de evaluación participativa con los habitantes de la cabecera municipal de Margarita, departamento de Bolívar, se logran identificar las distintas estrategias de adaptación para la preservación, protección y reconstrucción de activos frente a los efectos del cambio climático y el clima extremo. Este municipio ha sido uno de los más afectados por la ola invernal que entre 2010 y 2011 azotó buena parte del país. Para tal efecto se usó la metodología planteada por Moser y Stein (2010), cuyos resultados permiten construir espacios de reflexión y análisis entre la comunidad y las instituciones sobre los planes de desarrollo querequiere la comunidad para prevenir afectaciones y proteger o reconstruir sus activos. La principal conclusión es que se requiere un trabajo mancomunado (comunidad, entes gubernamentales y empresarios) para lograr disminuir la vulnerabilidad de los pobres, quienes por lo común son los principales afectados.
