Desigualdad persistente. Un ejercicio con datos de Argentina (1993-2015)

Abstract

Este artículo intenta responder la siguiente pregunta: ¿Por qué persiste una alta desigualdad salarial entre la población masculina adulta en la Argentina, a pesar de la reducción en la desigualdad general que ha tenido lugar durante el periodo 2003- 2011? Esto conduce a analizar los determinantes de la desigualdad salarial de los hombres ocupados, así como a evaluar las brechas entre grupos que no lograron cerrarse y permanecen como rasgo estructural del mercado laboral. Se usaron datos de los anos 1993, 2002 y 2015, a los que se aplicaron técnicas de microdescomposición y microsimulación, lo que permitió determinar la importancia de cada determinante en la distribución de los ingresos del trabajo. This study attempts to answer the following question: why does inequality for the male population in Argentina persist at high levels despite a general reduction during the period 2003 to 2011? Using this question as a basis, we analyze the determinants of wage inequality for men and assess gaps that have not yet been closed and continue to be structural features in the labor market. For data from 1993, 2002, and 2015, we apply micro-decomposition and microsimulation techniques in order to establish the relevance of each determinant of wage distribution.
