Ifo Migration Monitor: Number of New Immigrant Arrivals Falls Sharply - Major Differences in Education Levels

Abstract

After the enormous influx of refugees over the past year, only around 16,000 refugees per month have arrived in Germany as of March this year. According to a representative survey of refugees, their education level is highly heterogeneous. It also varies according to their country of origin. Successfully integrating these refugees into the labour market will be a challenge.
