Abstract

50 Jahre ist die erste Mondlandung durch Apollo 11 inzwischen her. Am 20. Juli 1969 (21. Juli deutscher Zeit) landeten Neil Armstrong und Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin auf dem Mond. Das Rennen im Weltraum zwischen den USA und der Sowjetunion war damit entschieden. Ein wirtschaftliches Projekt war das damalige Apollo-Programm nicht. Nach heutigen Maßstäben kostete es über 140 Milliarden US-Dollar (basierend auf Wilford, 1969, 67). Inzwischen ist die Raumfahrt aber nicht nur ein staatliches Zuschussgeschäft, sondern ist auch für private Unternehmen interessant geworden. Die USA haben angekündigt, in den nächsten fünf Jahren wieder amerikanische Astronauten auf den Mond zu bringen (Sueddeutsche.de, 2019). Ob das gelingen wird, ist noch offen. Die Wirtschaft sucht aber schon heute ihre Chancen im All.
