Absatz- und Personalpolitik des Handwerks im Zeichen des demografischen Wandels

Abstract

Die Bevölkerung in Deutschland wird bis zum Jahr 2020 stark altern. In einigen Regionen ist bis dahin auch mit einem Schrumpfen der Einwohnerzahl zu rechnen. Von diesen Entwicklungen ist das Handwerk in besonderer Weise berührt: in absatzpolitischer Hinsicht, weil es stark auf die Herstellung personenbezogener Produkte und Dienstleistungen für den deutschen Markt fokussiert ist, in personalpolitischer Hinsicht, weil es bereits heute aufgrund einer vermeintlich oder tatsächlich geringeren Attraktivität Probleme bei der Rekrutierung von Auszubildenden hat. Dies hat negative Auswirkungen auf das zukünftige Fachkräfteangebot. Die Rekrutierungsprobleme des Handwerks werden sich voraussichtlich verschärfen. Ob die Handwerksunternehmen die demografisch bedingten Veränderungen erkennen und ob sie rechtzeitig mit geeigneten Anpassungsmaßnahmen reagieren, untersuchte das IfM Bonn mittels einer Sonderauswertung seiner Demografieerhebung vom Herbst 2007.
