Teurer Wohnen. Wie Politik und Mietrecht den Wohnungsmarkt außer Kraft setzen und drei Vorschläge für leistbare vier Wände

Abstract

Die Funktionstüchtigkeit des österreichischen Wohnungsmarktes wird derzeit von mehreren Seiten in Frage gestellt. Zum einen tobt eine politische Debatte über eine drohende Knappheit an leistbarem Wohnraum, in deren Zusammenhang neue Eingriffe in privatrechtliche Mietverträge gefordert werden. Zum anderen klagt eine wachsende Zahl von Wohnungssuchenden über stark anziehende Mieten, während die Wohnungseigentümer immer öfter die fehlende Rentabilität von Vermietungen kritisieren. Die vorliegende Studie bringt Licht in die verwirrende Gemengelage, arbeitet Problemfelder heraus, benennt deren Ursachen und zeigt Lösungswege für einen funktionstüchtigen Wohnungsmarkt auf.
