Kommunikationsinfrastruktur: Verfügbarkeit in Österreich und Anwendungspotential im Sozialbereich

Abstract

Die Arbeit unterstützt die Diskussion von Anwendungen der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (IKT) im Sozialbereich. Die verstärkte Nutzung von IKT ist eingebettet in die Wachstumsstrategie "Europa 2020", welche die Verfügbarkeit eines Breitbandzuganges als Voraussetzung zur Nutzung solcher Dienste sieht. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden die Entwicklung der Netzversorgung und der "Digital Divide" in Österreich dargestellt und Anwendungen im Sozialbereich, insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Bevölkerungsalterung diskutiert. Das Dokument entstand im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie und dient als Hintergrundinformation für den Arbeitskreis "Kommunikationsinfrastrukturen – Investitionen in einen effektiven Sozialstaat" am 29. August 2012 im Rahmen des Europäischen Forums Alpbach.
