COVID-19-Pandemie: Weniger Sommerjobs für Jugendliche im Juli

Abstract

Die Beschäftigungszahlen verbesserten sich im Juli 2020 gegenüber den Vormonaten weiter: Der Abbau der unselbständigen Beschäftigung fiel im Vorjahresvergleich mit –2,1% weniger als halb so hoch aus wie im März und April zum Höhepunkt der COVID-19-bedingten Einschränkungen. Für Jugendliche (bis 19 Jahre) in vollzeitschulischer Ausbildung bietet die ausbildungsfreie Zeit die Möglichkeit, ein Pflichtpraktikum, wie es an den berufsbildenden mittleren und höheren Schulen als Teil des Lehrplans vorgeschrieben ist, oder einen Ferialjob auszuüben. Die aktuellen Daten zu den beschäftigten Jugendlichen im Alter bis 19 Jahren weisen auf einen Rückgang der Zahl der Ferialpraktika für Schülerinnen und Schüler im Juli um bis zu 22% hin. Dies ist auf die gegenwärtig schwierigen Rahmenbedingungen zurückzuführen (Beschäftigungsabbau, Kurzarbeit, Home-Office, Abstandsregeln usw.).
