El sector público que necesitamos tras la pandemia

Abstract

El artículo propone las líneas generales del papel que el sector público debería jugar en la reconstrucción social y económica tras la grave crisis producida por la pandemia de la COVID-19. Tras analizar distintas visiones acerca de la intervención pública desde los conceptos básicos de la teoría económica, se establece una propuesta de reforma de la administración en las áreas posiblemente más relevantes: agencias autónomas, profesionalización de directivos públicos, reducción de burocracia, transparencia, rendición de cuentas. Finalmente, apunta criterios bajo los cuales, con esta visión del sector público, deberían gestionarse los importantes fondos europeos concedidos para la recuperación de nuestro modelo económico.
