Stages coop�ratifs, dette �tudiante et pers�v�rance aux �tudes postsecondaires

Le d�crochage scolaire est un ph�nom�ne qui affecte le capital humain. Plusieurs �tudes ont permis de comprendre les facteurs qui influencent la d�cision des �tudiants de d�crocher de leurs �tudes postsecondaires. C�est ainsi que la dette �tudiante est apparue dans plusieurs �tudes comme un des facteurs parmi les plus importants pouvant expliquer le d�crochage dans les �tudes postsecondaires. Par ailleurs, certaines universit�s offrent des programmes qui permettent de combiner �tudes en classe et stages en entreprise. Ces programmes connus sous le nom de � programmes coop�ratifs � permettent aux �tudiants d�avoir, en plus d�une exp�rience professionnelle, des revenus pendant leurs �tudes. La pr�sente recherche se donne pour but de voir si le syst�me coop�ratif permet aux �tudiants de limiter leur endettement et par suite, de r�duire leur risque de d�crochage. Les r�sultats montrent que la dette �tudiante a un effet n�gatif sur la probabilit� de pers�v�rer. Cependant, le fait d��tre inscrit dans un programme coop�ratif n�influence que tr�s faiblement la relation entre la dette �tudiante et la pers�v�rance aux �tudes.
