Abstract

The contemparary study of social relations between men and women is focused on the available different approaches for the management of professional life/ private life. Women’s trajectories seem to be much less linear than men’s ones. The problem for active women is the impossible perfect conciliation between professional life and private life. Three womens profiles are highlighted, each having a different strategy : those who claim the simultaneous leading of a professional life and a private life as an ideal for the present time ; those who build, or are subjected to, a professional life without a family ; and, largest category, the women who, thanks to part-time jobs and family/profession alternance, compose with their double charge constraints. According to the necessary reorganisation of collective social times, diverse experiences are presented, especially in italy, wich try to conciliate between the opening hours of public and private services and the active women needs.
