Suomen elintarviketeollisuuden työn tulevaisuus. Toimintaympäristöanalyysi

Abstract

Tässä raportissa esittelemme elintarviketeollisuuden nykytilaa tilastojen kautta ja ehdotamme näkökulmia alan tulevaisuuteen. Havaitsemme, että vaikka alan palkkataso on Suomessa kansainvälisesti vertailtuna korkea, työn tuottavuus on myös hyvällä tasolla ja seurauksena kustannuskilpailukyky on kunnossa. Suomalainen elintarviketeollisuus on hyvin kotimarkkinakeskeistä verrattuna sekä muuhun kotimaan teollisuuteen että vertailumaihin. Vaikka elintarviketeollisuus jääkin jälkeen muusta teollisuudesta kannattavuudessa ja t&k-panostuksessa, kansainvälisesti verrattuna suomalainen elintarviketeollisuus pärjää mainiosti. Jalostusaste on Suomessa jopa vertailumaiden huipputasoa. Kiinnostavia elintarviketeollisuuden tulevaisuuteen vaikuttavia kysymyksiä ovat muun muassa kulutustottumusten muutos, vastuullisuus, ilmastonmuutos, maailmanpoliittiset kriisit, lihavuuden ehkäisy ja yleinen talouskehitys. Katsaus on osa Työterveyslaitoksen tulevaisuuteen katsovaa TYÖ2030-ohjelmaa, jossa Suomen eri toimialojen toimijoita ja etujärjestöjä kannustetaan yhteiseen vuoropuheluun alan työn tulevaisuudesta.
