Abstract

O trabalho apresenta um levantamento da teoria sobre Governança Corporativa e sua aplicabilidade nos Fundos de Investimento Imobiliário. Diante da crise dos subprime e dos derivativos, o item Governança Corporativa ganha ênfase. Item de fundamental relevância em qualquer operação, nunca deveria perder destaque e muito menos ser esquecido, porém os itens de Governança não são exatamente exigências. Nos EUA é possível observar neste momento, uma grande preocupação e a busca por regulamentação e obrigação nos tópicos relacionados, no Brasil pouca regulamentação e raras exigências. O artigo busca identificar esse ponto frágil das operações financeiras, a falta de informação. Até onde existe consciência dos riscos envolvidos na operação por parte do investidor. A Governança não é só uma estrutura organizacional, ela envolve também as regras de informação dentro e fora da corporação.
