Abstract

Après avoir évoqué les raisons pour lesquelles la carte scolaire apparaît aujourd'hui comme un outil inadapté pour lutter contre la ségrégation scolaire, cet article montre que son assouplissement n'a pas produit les effets espérés et que les pistes les plus prometteuses pour renforcer la mixité sociale à l'école sont à chercher du côté des systèmes de choix régulé, aujourd'hui expérimentés à l'étranger ainsi que sur certaines parties du territoire français.
