Abstract

Ce texte est une version légèrement révisée de la conférence d'ouverture des " Journées de l'Association Française de Science Économique ", qui ont eu lieu à Rennes (2004). Conformément aux règles de l'exercice, le texte ouvre un large espace de discussion sur l'utilité ducalcul économique public et sur les difficultés qu'il rencontre aujourd'hui. L'analyse met l'accentàlafois sur lesévolutions de l'environnementinstitutionneldu calculéconomique public, surles méritesetla solidité de ses fondements et sur l'amélioration de ses techniques et de sa mise en œuvre.
