Determinants of the reluctance of retail customers of conventional banks to migrate to participative banks in Morocco

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the obstacles to the immigration of customer accounts from conventional bank to participative banking in Morocco. To achieve our objective, we carried out a quality study using a questionnaire administered to a sample of 317 Moroccan residents with a bank account with a conventional bank. The study revealed that a lack of knowledge about participatory banks and how they work, as well as poor marketing of banking products by participatory banks, are major obstacles to customers immigration their bank accounts to a participatory bank.
