Abstract

Santé au travail et ressources humaines : nouveaux chantiers, nouveaux défis Emmanuel Abord de Chatillon et Tarik Chakor 2 500 ans avant notre ère, le titre de « grand médecin » fut inscrit sur la tombe d'un médecin égyptien, Metm, qui était chargé de veiller sur l'état de santé des ouvriers et esclaves des chantiers des pyramides. La prise en compte des risques professionnels semblait déjà présente dans l'Antiquité, mais avant tout dans une logique de réparation. Si pendant des siècles ont été dissociés le traitement des problèmes de production et ceux des soins, il a fallu attendre la deuxième partie du XXème siècle pour installer l'idée de prévention dans une logique ergonomique, qui tienne compte aussi bien des contraintes productives que de la situation de ceux qui l'accompagnent dans le temps. L'idée même de prévention s'est alors installée, visant à prémunir avant tout individus et organisations des accidents du travail et des maladies professionnelles. Ces questions n'appartenaient non pas aux gestionnaires des ressources humaines, mais plutôt aux ingénieurs chargés, en priorité, d'adapter les outils de production à l'homme au travail.
