Abstract

Cet article discute le rôle et la posture du manager humanitaire dans l'implantation d'une démarche qualité. En effet, les acteurs humanitaires se soucient de plus en plus de la qualité de leurs services et s'interrogent sur les meilleures manières de les mettre en oeuvre dans leur organisation. Une recherche inductive portant sur le cas de l'implantation d'une démarche qualité à la Croix-Rouge luxembourgeoise nous conduit à présenter le manager comme étant un « facilitateur de sens » pour rallier ses équipes à la réalisation d'un tel projet. Pour mettre en avant cette posture, nous nous appuyons sur plusieurs travaux de chercheurs, dont ceux de Weick, en mobilisant sa théorie sur le sensemaking. Les résultats de cette recherche, bien qu'appliqués au cas des organisations non gouvernementales, peuvent s'appliquer à tout type d'organisation. Ils présentent une méthode managériale ascendante, là où la plupart des organisations adoptent encore une posture managériale très top down.
