Abstract
A nivel mundial los fenómenos del embarazo y la fecundidad en adolescentes son reconocidos como problemas debido a sus consecuencias sobre las madres, sus hijos y la sociedad. La presente investigación evalúa el efecto del Sistema de Alertas de la Secretaría de Educación de Bogotá (SASED) sobre la fecundidad adolescente en colegios oficiales de la ciudad. El principal resultado de la investigación indica que el SASED, una herramienta de identificación y atención a población estudiantil bajo diversas situaciones de riesgo, tiene una relación inversa con el número de alumbramientos de estudiantes adolescentes. En particular se observa que los colegios que mediante el SASED identifican y atienden más estudiantes bajo situaciones de riesgo, presentan mayor reducción en la tasa de fecundidad de estudiantes matriculadas. A nivel general se encuentra que por cada reporte adicional en el SASED, la tasa de fecundidad adolescente se reduce en 0,15 nacimientos por cada mil estudiantes. Por lo tanto, es importante incentivar el uso de esta herramienta para lograr mejores resultados en cuanto a la mitigación de la fecundidad adolescente en la población estudiantil. ***** Worldwide the adolescent pregnancy and fertility are recognized as problems due to the consequences towards young mothers, their children and the society. This research assesses the effect of an Alarm System of the Ministry of Education in Bogotá (SASED) on the adolescent fertility in public schools in Bogota. The main result of this research indicates that SASED, as a tool to identify and attend scholar population under several risk situations, has an inverse relation with the number of births within adolescent students. In this regard, schools with higher number of reported cases of students under risk situations are also schools with better performance in prevention of fertility among enrolled students. The results show that for each additional SASED case reported, the adolescent fertility rate decreases 0.15 births out of one thousand students. Therefore, it is important to promote the usage of this tool to improve the impact over the adolescent fertility in schools.
