Construcción de un índice de regionalización para el Sistema Nacional de Propiedad Industrial (SPI)

Abstract

A través de la metodología de componentes principales, este artículo propone un índice de regionalización (IROPI) que permite tener un criterio objetivo para la ubicación a lo largo del territorio nacional de las oficinas de propiedad industrial en Colombia. Los resultados arrojados por el índice fueron complementados con un análisis comparativo de costos de transporte, en donde el criterio final de decisión se basó tanto en los resultados del IROPI como en los costos de transporte entre departamentos. Como resultado, este ejercicio de priorización permitió identificar 6 ciudades potenciales, que por sus características socioeconómicas, de generación de actividades de innovación tecnológica y ubicación estratégica resultan ser las más convenientes para ubicar las oficinas. Las ciudades seleccionadas serían: Barranquilla (Atlántico), Bucaramanga (Santander), Cali (Valle del Cauca), Pereira (Risaralda), Neiva (Huila) y Medellín (Antioquia).
