Permanencia y valor agregado en la ensenanza media en Colombia

Abstract

Resumen En este artículo estudiamos los determinantes de permanencia y del valor agregado generado en los estudiantes de ensenanza media en Colombia. Se encuentra que, a pesar del corto periodo de tiempo, ser hombre, la extra-edad, y haber repetido un ano reduce la probabilidad de llegar a grado 11, aún después de controlar por los puntajes obtenidos al inicio del ciclo en la Prueba Saber 9. En términos de valor agregado documentamos diferencias a favor de hombres, estudiantes en colegios urbanos y estudiantes de mayor nivel socioeconómico.
