Abstract

In this document a cost efficient incentive is proposed to allow for theadoption of a Sylvopastoral system by the cattle raisers from La Miel basins(Caldas); a linear programming optimization model is solved to understandthe relationship between the traditional cattle rising and the Sylvopastoralsystems with the economic and environmental conditions in the basin. Toperform the analysis secondary information collected in the study area. Theresults obtained from diverse scenarios allowed for the conclusion that thebest incentive, given the economic and environmental restrictions amounts tothe one that equals the net benefits of both productive systems.
