Demanda laboral en la Banca Central: an�lisis de tendencias 2000-2009

Abstract

Este documento presenta las principales tendencias en las plantas de personal, salarios yfunciones de 63 bancos centrales, para el per�odo 2000-2009. Se profundiza en el an�lisis dealgunas funciones que realizan los bancos centrales como la supervisi�n del sistema financiero,la operaci�n de los sistemas de pagos, la administraci�n de las reservas internacionales, eldesarrollo de actividades de educaci�n econ�mica y financiera, la elaboraci�n de cuentasnacionales y el desarrollo de investigaci�n econ�mica y financiera. Se desarrolla un modelo dedemanda laboral donde se explican algunos determinantes de la plantas de los bancos centrales.Los resultados se�alan que en general las plantas de los bancos centrales han venidoreduciendo su tama�o debido a procesos de reestructuraci�n, como es el caso de laseconom�as pertenecientes a la Uni�n Europea y de modernizaci�n de la Banca central. Seanalizaron modelos de panel est�tico y din�mico, encontrando una estabilidad y unapersistencia del tama�o de la planta en el tiempo.
