Crescimento Da Produtividade Dos Municípios Nordestinos E A Questão Espacial: A Hipótese Dos Fatores Espaciais Comuns

Abstract

O presente estudo teve como objetivo principal testar a hipótese de convergência da produtividade entre os municípios nordestinos, considerando o seu transbordamento espacial e a dependência dos fatores de produção entre municípios vizinhos. Adota-se a mesma estratégia empírica de Lall e Shalizi (2003), considerando, porém, tanto o setor formal quanto o informal, com base nos Censos Demográficos (1991, 2000 e 2010). Os resultados apontam para um efeito positivo da dependência espacial entre o crescimento da produtividade: municípios são beneficiados pelo crescimento da produtividade dos seus vizinhos. Adicionalmente, a estimação do modelo econométrico Durbin-Espacial confirma a hipótese dos fatores comuns: municípios vizinhos concorrem por fatores de produção devido à sua escassez na região.
