Abstract

Machines have taken the lead in automating manufacturing and agricultural production for more than two centuries. In developed countries, rare are factories or farmers who are not supported and augmented by technology in the form of robots or algorithms. We owe this to the compounded benefits of the first three industrial revolutions. As a result, they have significantly increased the level of automation, massively reduced the amount of manual work, and increased production volumes. In addition, they have improved people’s standards of living and reduced the number of undernourished people in the world significantly…
