Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is the core technology of Internet of Things. Interconnecting WSN with the Internet is of great significance, while all-IP interconnection method is currently the most convenient and effective way. Considering that the conventional full instance of TCP/IP protocol stack is inappropriate for the sensor node, design schemes of the protocol stack for all-IP WSN have been proposed by many institutions and scholars. This paper starts with a brief introduction of several methods of interconnecting WSN with the Internet and then analyzes the necessity of all-IP method. An overview of major challenges that all-IP WSN faces is also presented and current state-of-the-art on the all-IP WSN are discussed at last.
