Abstract
This paper aims to develop a tool to monitor the real convergence of Romania's economic and social performance with the other Member States and the EU average. The original character of the proposed methodology is conferred by the complex and multidimensional approach of the real convergence, starting from the identification of 165 indicators considered relevant, quantitative and qualitative, simple, average and composite, in nominal and real values, which are as many sensors on the essential components of the Romanian economic and social model, gathered in a Dashboard. The tool is tested for the period 2007–2023, for Romania. The methodology has the essential advantage that it can be replicated for any of the EU Member States, allowing substantive comparisons to be made between them in terms of real convergence, as well as the reconfiguration of public policies.
