Students´ Perception on Innovative Teaching Methods

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine, how second year business management students perceive new innovative teaching methods. The material used in the study was collected by learning diaries the students kept during From Idea to Innovation course that aims at getting the students familiar with the methods used to create ideas for innovations.The students´ overall perception of the course is positive. The atmosphere in the course was relaxed and supported different learning styles. The students are of the opinion that the methods introduced and practiced in the course are useful not only in working life, but also in the projects and courses the students have in the course of their studies.The conclusion is that the course is important, because it gets the students familiar with practical study methods and supports their individual learning styles. The course should be arranged already during the first semester to give the students a “tool-kit” that they can use when they solve challenges university´s working-life partners set for different courses.
