Abstract

Tiene como objetivo presentar una revisión de estudios recientes sobre la economía política del Caribe colombiano, resaltando los aspectos claves para comprender la persistencia en su rezago, por lo cual brinda una descripción de los cambios más importantes en su historia reciente, haciendo especial énfasis en el clientelismo moderno, y estudiando la relación que existe entre las élites regionales y la clase política nacional; pasando a hablar también del efecto que tuvo la violencia paramilitar durante las últimas décadas.
