Los ingresos de los universitarios: ¿qué carreras pagan más? El caso uruguayo

Abstract

La educación, en particular la educación superior, genera tanto beneficios sociales como beneficios privados, de los que se apropia el individuo. En este trabajo, interesa determinar los beneficios monetarios que reciben los individuos que han realizado estudios superiores en Uruguay. Para ello, se estiman los ingresos de los universitarios y el retorno que obtienen en el mercado laboral por haber invertido en capital humano a través de la Tasa Interna de Retorno (TIR). Esta estimación se realiza para las distintas carreras universitarias, agrupadas en seis áreas de conocimiento.
