Abstract

In Europa gibt es – im Gegensatz zu den USA – mit den Alternative Investment Markets eigene Märkte für kleine börsennotierte Unternehmen ("Small-Caps"). Die Studie analysiert die Performance dieser Märkte und beschreibt die Organisation von drei ausgewählten Märkten im Detail. Aus den Ergebnissen werden wirtschaftspolitische Schlussfolgerungen abgeleitet, die einerseits die Errichtung eines "KMU-Wachstumsmarktes" nach der EU-Richtlinie über Märkte für Finanzinstrumente (MiFID 2) in Österreich betreffen und andererseits Maßnahmen, um kapitalmarktbasierte Elemente des österreichischen Finanzierungssystems zu stärken.
