Zweiter Bericht zur internationalen Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Wiens

Abstract

Die Studie analysiert wesentliche Indikatoren der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Wiens (Stellung in Waren- und Kapitalströmen, ökonomisches Entwicklungsniveau und Wachstum, Beschäftigung und Arbeitsmarkt, Wirtschaftsstruktur und Strukturwandel) im Vergleich mit einem Sample von 44 europäischen Großstädten; dabei wird auf eine harmonisierte Datenbasis zum europäischen Städtenetz zurückgegriffen, die das WIFO in den letzten Jahren im Rahmen einer Kooperation mit anderen europäischen Forschungsinstituten aufgebaut hat. Der zweite Teil der Studie widmet sich einem internationalen Vergleich der Ausstattung Wiens mit wichtigen Standortfaktoren. Neben einer Fülle von internationalen Datenquellen wurde dazu eine umfangreiche Umfrage unter Wiener Unternehmen ausgewertet, die die Bedeutung und Bewertung von insgesamt 65 Standortfaktoren am Standort Wien wiedergibt. Schlussfolgerungen zur optimalen Ausrichtung der Wiener Standortpolitik auf Basis der gewonnenen Erkenntnisse schließen die Studie ab.
