Abstract

Die österreichische Wirtschaft befand sich auch im Jahr 2007 in einer Hochkonjunktur, allerdings zeigten sich im Jahresverlauf erste Hinweise auf eine Konjunkturabschwächung. Getragen wurde die Konjunktur nach wie vor von der regen Nachfrage aus dem Ausland, während die Konsumausgaben der privaten Haushalte zwar im Jahresverlauf schwankten, aber insgesamt weiter verhalten blieben. Neben den Exporten erwies sich auch die Investitionstätigkeit der Unternehmen als Konjunkturstütze. Das regionale Konjunkturbild prägten in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2007 ein deutliches Zurückbleiben des Südens wie auch eine Verringerung des Wachstumsvorsprungs der westlichen Bundesländer, die mit dem Nachlassen der Nachfrageimpulse aus dem Ausland zusammenhing. In Ostösterreich verstärkte sich das Wachstum hingegen im 2. Halbjahr 2007.
