Abstract

Differences in technology between countries and the effect of this on trade performance have important consequences for the growth and development of countries. This book analyses the role of innovation in influencing the trade performance of developed countries. It presents an up-to-date systematic empirical evaluation of the role of technology in a group of key industrialized economies and integrates differences in technology into the debate about European Union and country convergence in general.
