Nahrungssicherheit und Agrarspekulation: Was ist politisch zu tun?

Abstract

Index-basierte Termingeschäfte auf dem Nahrungsmittelmarkt werden kritisiert, weil sie für rasante Preissteigerungen und Hungerrevolten verantwortlich gemacht werden. Die Autoren haben die Literatur zum Nahrungsmittelmarkt ausgewertet und die realwirtschaftlichen Ursachen für die Nahrungsmittelkrisen untersucht. Sie kommen zu dem Ergebnis, dass nicht Termingeschäfte, sondern vor allem politische Fehlentscheidungen zu den Krisen beigetragen haben.
