Unsicherheit durch internationale Handelskonflikte – Industriekonjunktur flaut ab. Entwicklung von Warenproduktion, Außenhandel und Investitionen im Jahr 2019

Abstract

Im Einklang mit der Schwäche der internationalen Konjunktur und dem Rückgang des Welthandels im Jahr 2019 verflachte das Wachstum des österreichischen Außenhandels im Jahresverlauf deutlich. Die Ausfuhr in die drei wichtigsten österreichischen Exportmärkte blieben unter dem Vorjahresniveau, insbesondere weil die Lieferungen an Vorprodukten, Maschinen und Kfz einbrachen. Mit dem Rückgang der Exporte kühlte sich auch die Konjunktur in der Herstellung von Waren im Jahresverlauf merklich ab. Allerdings waren die einzelnen Wirtschaftszweige davon unterschiedlich betroffen. Einige Branchen (z. B. Pharmaindustrie, Getränkeherstellung) erzielten weiterhin kräftige Zuwächse. Technologische Entwicklungen hatten eine Ausweitung der Investitionen in immaterielle Anlagegüter zur Folge, während das Wachstum der Ausrüstungsinvestitionen konjunkturbedingt gegen Jahresende zum Erliegen kam. Anfang 2020 zeichnete sich eine Aufwärtstendenz ab, die allerdings durch die COVID-19-Krise beendet wurde.
