Abstract

Das Parlament des Vereinigten Königreichs stimmt in diesem Quartal drei Mal gegen den von der Regierung und der EU ausgehandelten Austrittsvertrag. Aufgrund der Differenzen im Unterhaus und um einen "harten Brexit" zu vermeiden, wird das Datum des Brexit auf Wunsch von Premierministerin May vom Europäischen Rat von 29. März auf 12. April verschoben. Die Europäische Zentralbank fordert die italienischen Banken auf, ihre Bestände an "Non Performing Loans" rascher abzubauen. Wegen der Verlangsamung des Wirtschaftswachstums wird die Europäische Zentralbank ihre expansive Geldpolitik beibehalten, die Notenbank der USA signalisiert, 2019 keine weiteren Zinserhöhungen vorzunehmen. Angesichts der dramatischen Wirtschaftskrise emigriert ein großer Teil der Bevölkerung Venezuelas. – In Österreich wird 2018 erstmals seit 1974 ein Überschuss des öffentlichen Gesamthaushaltes von 426 Mio. € (0,1% des BIP) ausgewiesen.
