Der Haushaltssektor. Der volkswirtschaftliche Wert der unbezahlten Arbeit

Abstract

Die vorliegende Studie versucht erstmals für Österreich das BIP um die vom Markt über Preise nicht bewertete Haushaltsproduktion von Gütern und Dienstleistungen zu ergänzen und geht auf die Wechselbeziehung zwischen Haus- und Erwerbsarbeit ein. Ein Überblick über verschiedene Bewertungsmethoden zeigt die Bandbreite des Bewertungsspielraums. Nach der hier gewählten Inputbewertung der Hausarbeit zum Lohnsatz einer Haushaltshilfe hat die Haushaltsproduktion in Österreich (1981) einen Wert von 30% bis 38% des BIP. Im Durchschnitt arbeiten Frauen in Österreich über den ganzen Lebenszyklus insgesamt – Haus- und Erwerbsarbeit – mehr als Männer. Männer wenden mehr Zeit für Erwerbsarbeit auf als Frauen; die Haushaltsarbeit wird zu 80% von Frauen, zu 20% von Männern erbracht.
