Abstract

As a result of rapid technological development and the introduction of digitalization, a fundamental change is taking place in the functioning and operation of the maritime industry. Digitalization processes place new demands on human resources in the sector. As a result, a gap is emerging between the demand and supply of knowledge, skills, and capabilities. In this context, the aim of this paper is to justify the new role, tasks and instruments for the formation of a new educational environment of maritime education, according to the current processes of digitalization of maritime universities. The research proves that digitalization is not a set of technological solutions and software products, but the design, management, and control of the educational process in an innovative environment with the help of management tools – entrepreneurial hubs, active interaction, and talent management of the organization.
