La población dependiente en España: estimación del número y coste global asociado a su cuidado

Abstract

Este trabajo evalúa el número de afectados y el coste de los cuidados asociados a la dependencia durante los próximos años en España. Se utiliza la Encuesta de Discapacidades, Deficiencias y Estado de Salud y las proyecciones de población elaboradas por el INE, la legislación vigente, así como estudios previos sobre el coste individual de una persona dependiente. La clave del estudio es el concepto de coste por punto de baremo. Una vez obtenido, se estiman costes y se realizan proyecciones hasta 2050. Finalmente, se comparan los resultados con las previsiones de la Ley de Dependencia.
