Abstract

Rainfall analysis is an area of primary concern because of the involved uncertainties. These uncertainties may be pertaining to the unambiguous nature of data, intrinsic errors involved due to rainfall randomness and unpredictability. To tackle such situations of uncertainties, probabilistic dual hesitant sets (PDHFSs) are the best fit. The information gathered in the form of PDHFSs not only contain the aspect of surety/unsurety, but also consider the associated probable information. The presented article aims to provide a structured way to analyze rainfall on the basis of certain set of criteria subjected to different geographical regions. The proposed method involves development of a logarithmic measure and its deployment in rainfall analysis using Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Combinative Distance based Assessment (CODAS) based on weight determination using Full Consistency Method (FUCOM) technique. The proposed methodology is applied on a problem based on rainfall analysis and a detailed comparison analysis is done with the existing methodologies. Finally, the article results in a structured way to rank the highest rainfall in the year-wise manner.
