Effects of the technology use on anxiety and aggression levels of youth conducting their higher education studies abroad

Abstract

This research investigates the effect of using technology on aggression and anxiety levels of freshmen students studying abroad. In order to evaluate the effect of technology use on students’ aggression and anxiety levels, the “Technology use habits”, “Effect of Social media”, “Role of technology in daily life”, “Educational use”, “Communication use” and “Continuous–State Anxiety Inventory “ scales were respectively used. A structural equation model was established to determine the relationships between various variables. While technology use of youth studying abroad does not significantly affect the level of anxiety and aggression, continuous anxiety problem related to technology use has been diagnosed. It was found out that the more the use of technology increases, the more the level of continuous anxiety increases.
