Abstract

The aim of this article is to identify primary risk areas related to the protection of personal data on the basis of current regulations (further referred to as “the GDPR-related legal risk”) in organizations of the public finance sector. The article focuses on the matters relating to the management of personal data protection with respect to the economic impact assessment of violating the existing legal standards and in the context of possible financial and image-related sanctions for public organizations. It is based on the review of available literature, audit reports of the Supreme Audit Office (Najwyzsza Izba Kontroli, NIK) and my own research.
